New Lanyard and Eyeglass Chain
This stone is called chrysanthemum stone (I guess because some mums can have similar colors?). Its earthy coloring includes grey, brown and rust.
The gold complements it beautifully but I will also make these in silver which will give the stone a different look! These are available at Miss Val’s Creations.
Bucket List Additions
I added 2 destinations to my bucket list this week. This is Maho Beach in St. Maarten in the Caribbean.
The jumbo jets fly right overhead. How amazing and scary would it be to be lying on this beach with the planes flying over? What a rush! Apparently you feel the heat of the plane and winds of 100 miles per hour!!! This probably includes a slight sandstorm as well.
Jurassic Coast is in Dorset and East Devon, England. Here there are well preserved dinosaur fossil and footprints.
How insanely cool!!! This coast also boasts fantastic rock formations! I think I will be able to talk Jim into both these trips some day. The photos are from Thinkstock.
Organic Wines
There is a wonderful local wine store called the Wine Connextion which Jim and I typically visit on Saturday afternoons when they have complementary wine tasting. Usually we do not discover anything that we love more than our regular red wine favorites.
However this past weekend we both enjoyed 2 imported organic red wines!
We left with a bottle of each and polished them off that night! Good times!
The Conno Sur Cabernet/Carmenere is a 2009 from Chile. The Juan Gill Honoro Vera Monastrell is a 2010 from Spain. They are both bold and full flavored and best of all, under $9!!!!
Pizza
I am pizza obsessed….always have been. This photo was taken after eating a piece! I had not intentions of blogging about it but it was so mouth watering that I had to share it with others who may like pizza topping ideas!
The crust is whole wheat. Then I added a little red sauce and some shredded mozzarella. Then I added baby spinach, chopped jarred marinated artichokes, chopped jarred roasted red pepper followed with more shredded mozzarella and topped with feta cheese. Delicious and much healthier and a restaurant pizza!!!
Glee
Is it me or does Ricky Martin get better with age?
It does not matter that he bats for the other team. He and Naya Rivera did a fabulous duet of Madonna's La Isla Bonita this week on Glee. The writers left things open enough that he should be back! I am so happy to have become a Gleek. The show makes me laugh, it inspires me and makes me want to dance and sing. You never know what song they will sing next!!!
The Safari Chair
This is my safari chair which I had custom made 10 years ago. The fabric was supposed to be for toss pillows only but I insisted on having the fabric put onto this big cushy chair frame.
Of course, Emmett and Alice own it now. An African safari is my dream trip so hopefully someday this will happen (I may need to hit the lottery first).
Thank you for stopping by! I wish you all a week of smiles!
Lovely post Val and I couldn't agree more about the Cono Sur wine...a favourite in our house!
ReplyDeletepat
Emmett and Alice have the right idea ;-)
ReplyDeleteBoth places are fabulous. Would love to visit Dorset especially! Hope you get the chance!
Happy weekend!
I wanna win the lottery too!! I agree with you on Ricky Martin he is aging just fine :0
ReplyDeleteOn the pizza topic we always buy the 5 dollar pepperoni pizza and the kids take off the pepperoni :/
yours looks delish! nom nom!!
Have a great weekend!
Love the beads - so pretty and earthy. That beach in England is calling me! And as much as I don't like to admit it ... once in awhile I catch Glee. I happened to catch this week's and Ricky was amazing .. he still seriously 'has it.'
ReplyDeleteVal, I always enjoy reading your post you make me smile. I got Dorset England on my bucket list also and I don't know about the beach with the jets flying just feet above you I'm just not that adventurous. My favorite wines are the sweet wines like Mascoto.
ReplyDeleteThe pizza sound wonderful I bet is was very good. I love jasper gemstones it comes in so many different styles and colors. Your lanyard and eyeglass holder are very pretty.

I know there were other things in this blog post...but all I saw was wine and pizza :) I got a little distracted after that :)
ReplyDeleteI think I just figured out what we're having for supper :)
Blogging about food is a dangerous thing! People are always hhungry, and seeing food pictures make them forget everything else!
ReplyDeleteOn Sundays my guys making pizza for me, lucky ;)
Oh, and the Ricky, kinda like Sean Connery, aging makes only better. Just like a wine :))
Healthy pizza, love that idea. Your beads are dark and interesting. Your cats at opposite ends, so cute, maybe they are dreaming of the jungle, too. Hope you get to take your African trip someday, when I was young, those old rerun of Tarzan movies made it look scary. Although a safari is different, it still will be exciting. I keep forgetting to watch Glee, I do like the show, did you see the Bravo (?) show where they were auditioning for guest spots?
ReplyDeleteMan, that pizza looks good.
ReplyDeleteOk, refocusing now...
I love the earth tones in the lanyard. Such lovely work! And, when you take either vacation, let me know. Maybe I'll get lucky with a sweepstakes or something too. :-)
Lovely necklace! The earth tones are really rich with the gold accents. You pizza looks and sounds really tasty. I don't make homemade pizza enough, I think I will make one this week. Thanks for the inspiration.

Everyday Inspire
The pizza looks amazing. I think making your own pizza is the right idea.
ReplyDeleteI think I would love to visit that beach. It looks glorious and seeing the planes fly so low. That would be awesome.
Hi Val, I love those earthy colored beads, they are so pretty.
ReplyDeleteWell, I'm a pizza nut myself, just had pizza last night. My favorite pizza tho is the one my husband makes, it is the yummiest and by far the best for you. Wish we could have that each and every time we have pizza but...alas, he does not always have the time to make it. :(
Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Give your kitties a pat on the head for me.
Ruth
Ps... happy valentine's day to you.
That chain is so beautiful! And I´m officially ready to jump on the plane to Caribbean!

Stop by sometimes :)
Macarons and Pearls
I would so much love to join you when you explore those dinosaur prints, how awesome is that? I'm not so sure about the jumbo jet flying overhead though... ;) I to love Glee, it's a Tuesday night tradition here, even my husband likes the show. And yes, Ricky Martin was amazing, I loved that scene. The earthy tones in your newest creation are gorgeous and I'd definitely be in favor of silver accents. :)
ReplyDeleteIf you like the dinosaur idea, you should read Tracy Chevalier's book 'Remarkable Creatures' all about two eccentric women and their search for fossils on English beaches. I loved it and want to go to those beaches now!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog.
I love the necklace, I love wine (any ;)) and I love pizza (especially home made)!
ReplyDeleteGreat post :)
Hey there, loving the contrast of the chrysanthemum stone with the gold. Both lanyard and eyeglass chain are beautiful. And now you've go me hungry for pizza and thirsty for wine.
ReplyDelete-Debbie
Wonderful photos. I especially love your second shot. Great capture !
ReplyDeleteMmmm!! Caribe and a good wine!!! I wish a very lovely Valentines day!!!
ReplyDeleteYikes!!! That (airplane) would be scary Val, but you know, I'd risk it to be on that beach right about now!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the color combination of beads you chose for the eyeglass holder!
I too am pizza obsessed. I could eat it 7 days a week and not tire of it!!
Happy Valentine's Day to you, and I wish you a beautiful week ahead!

Mmmmmmmmmmm...pizza! An Eyeglass Chain is such a good idea. My mother in law needs one bad. Her glasses are always on top of her head and she can't find them. I'm starting to think that thing isn't screwed in all the way.
ReplyDeleteWow...looks like you've got a lot going on! That pizza looks amazing!! YUM!!! I've been attempting to make my own crusts lately- nothing better than home made pizza.
ReplyDeleteVisiting via flickr today, and love the blog:) Just had to stay a while!
Hi Val,
ReplyDeleteBeautiful color to those stones! Your dream trips sound heavenly, esp. as I look out at snow :) Organic wine, yummmmm. I'll have to look for some.
Have a great weekend!
Thanks for all the USA suggestions :) I am going to note them down in my notebook.
