Fossil stone is formed by little skeletons of sea creatures! It creates a hard substance that can easily be dyed. Hence, this gorgeous fuchsia color. These pretty earrings are available at Miss Val's Creations.
Retirement
Ok, it's not really retirement but I got the statement "I heard you are retiring" a few times while transitioning out of my full time job. I just turned 40 in April but that is a bit young for retirement!
Then at my farewell luncheon with all the fabulous people I have worked with over the years, it felt like a retirement party! I was showered with flowers, cards and great company. :)

I still have my move and house closing but everything should be done by May 20! Then I can start to get into some sort of groove. I'm in desperate need of yoga or something!
Thank you for stopping by. I should now have time to start visiting all your lovely blogs again. I hope your spring is going beautifully! ~Val
1 big step down, 2 more to go! :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I'm so happy for you. It is the best feeling to work for yourself. I took the plunge in November and I have never been happier, and it will be the same for you too.
ReplyDeleteThe flowers are beautiful and you are going to have to visit your former coworkers because you'll be missing them.
Happy 40th Birthday Miss Val! and happy early retirement as well (although you still have to work ) I am so happy things are going so well for you...you will need some yoga or something to decompress from all the stress! ps the wind is gone :)

That's funny...I got asked about "retiring" too when I quit my job to work at home. The funny thing is...I work twice as hard now as I did at my other job...lol!
ReplyDeleteCongrats again!!!
I unwillingly entered into a sort of retirement 4 years ago last month but it is lovely to at least be trying to be self employed. I hope you will keep us posted on what's going on. And Memories for Life says it best, we work twice as hard being self employed, don't we? This time we're working for ourselves and it seems so much more important. Good luck with the next two chores
ReplyDeleteA very big congratulations to you, Val!
ReplyDeleteThis will be such a wonderful new adventure for you, and I look forward to hearing all about it here.
Have a wonderful evening!
May 20th is only 12 days away :-) you are in a wonderful situation-I can only imagine what being self employed would feel like, pretty cool I'd imagine. I love these earrings, cool hoops and interesting info on the fossil stones.

ReplyDeleteLove the great shape of hanger part of your earrings. Unusual.
Well, then - Happy Retirement! hahaha...It's a GOOD thing if you get to retire after only 20 years, because you're "retirement" years will now be self-employed. You begin a new journey, with a new career, and a new home! I congratulate you. And I'm so happy for you. =0)
