Rhodonite is associated with peace, generosity and attention to details. The stone is also pretty to look at! These sweet sterling silver dangles are available at Miss Val's Creations.
A Little Update
The pool is open!
So I'm thinking about doing laps in place of yoga on those super hot days! I've never had an in-ground pool before so this is a first. My dad gave us that itty bitty tree in the left in front of the fence. It is an eastern redbud!
I haven't cared for swimming since I was a little girl. I think a huge part of this was due to wearing contact lenses since I was 15 years old. Since having Lasik surgery a year ago I can now swim while seeing and not have to worry about lenses in my eyes! I may start enjoying swimming again!!!
The peonies are on bloom. I love this type! So gorgeous. It is also a flower I never had in my yard before.
Monday Blog Tour Questions
Duni of Duni's Studio passed the torch to me! These were fun questions to think about and answer!
What am I working on?
As many of you know, I just moved. While I’m settled in now it looks like we are moving to Florida at the end of the summer. This means I don’t want to get into anything new! However I have been adding new items each week to my findings shop. Nothing bulky since I will be moving again! I do have ideas for new eyeglass chains and lanyards but I think I will be waiting until I’m settled in my next home to start working on those.
How does my work differ from others in its genre?
My signature style includes gemstones which have always been my first love when it comes to beads. Simple and classic is my personal style that carries over in my business. However I have been known to create some conversations pieces from time to time!
Why do I write what I do?
First and foremost my blog is a personal journal. While I don’t get too personal on it, I like to chronicle things I do as well as my time with Jim. He enjoys the blog just as much as I do and reads it every week. So here you find things including my business, cooking, gardening, day trips and more.

ReplyDeleteHi,Val:-)
ReplyDeleteVery nice post,as usually I've read everything with pleasure.
The earrings are cute-I love the pink rhodonite too-I made the pendant with the rectangular one,not so long ago.
Its,fine,You have got the perfect conditions for having the open swimming pool.It looks very nice and I bet You have the good weather to get a swim in.
As You know,I live in the cold,Northern country and if I want to swim,I mostly go to the swimming pools in the hall,or have a swim somewhere in the warm sea.
I also have the peonies in my garden and they are starting to have the buds. They will probably bloom accurately, when we have gone for our vacations,so I'll have to ask the neighbor to take some photos of them.
I am sending my Best Greetings to You from warm Sweden/as for Sweden:-))/

I hope you enjoy swimming again. Your pool looks great also the lovely garden surrounding. Peonies are beautiful, I have a lot of them in my garden but now they are withered yet.
ReplyDeleteHave a good week!
That pool looks so inviting, Val!
ReplyDeleteI used to love to swim, as a child, and then I just seemed to lose all interest in it. I may have to rethink that!
So you're moving to Florida! Now, this must be exciting. I am sure it will be nice to be able to avoid winters like the last one we had. :-)
I hope you've had a wonderful weekend, and I wish you a great week ahead.
Your pool looks so nice! And how fun to have the option of swimming laps in your own backyard!
ReplyDeleteFlorida...how fun! That's the great part about working from home...you can take your job anywhere :)

ReplyDeleteHi Val! Thank you for participating in the Monday Blog Tour! I enjoyed reading your responses :) I feel the same way about swimming! Although if I had a choice I'd probably prefer swimming in the ocean. Wow, you're moving to Florida! Good bye winter coats ;-) Your earrings are beautiful as always!
ReplyDeleteThe pool looks marvellous, I would definitely be in there :)) And I adore peonies, these are gorgeous :)))) Happy Monday doll xx

I love those simple dangle earrings. I wish my ears were still pierced...
ReplyDeleteSwimming pool - oh how I miss a swimming pool! I used to swim as a kid. Basically all summer, I'd be in the pool. I miss that.
I've never been a water person, but I love the idea of having a pool!! Moving to Florida sounds exciting, but how can you leave such a gorgeous yard with all the flowers and pool?!?! Lol
ReplyDeleteI think swimming is great exercise. I'd still do the yoga once or twice a week because you'll be using different muscles. And the flowers are beautiful. I can see you spending a lot of time outside this summer.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous pool! We visit a local pool and have been going a couple times a week since it opened. It's such great exercise in the summertime and so much fun! I think you'll definitely love it now that you don't have lenses to worry about.
ReplyDeleteHey Val ;o)

Can't believe you are considering moving again!! The pool looks lovely. And nice to read a little more about you too!
ReplyDeleteLove the earrings and the peony. But hey, I think I missed something. I thought you were already in Florida. lol
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the new pool! It’s definitely convenient to have one in your yard, because you can take a dip anytime you want. It’s great for those days when the sweltering heat becomes unbearable. Having a pool at home would also make for some great backyard barbecues! Just set up a few chairs and a grill, and your all set! Cheers!
