These river walks are great when it has been raining since they are all paved. No mud trekking worries! When the rivers flood though, these do get shut down for days until the water recedes. These are all along the Congaree River in the Columbia area of SC.
Thank you for stopping by! ~Val
I like to take photos of bridges and am excited to see so many here!
ReplyDeleteAnother beautiful walk - love that bridge and train! I have a little town that I use to walk through quite a bit - actually two of them and the train would go through. I love when there isn't a train going by to go to the middle of the tracks and get pics looking ahead or behind. I love trains. I follow steam trains on twitter and Tumblr - and usually there is such beautiful scenery to go along with their billowoing white steam clouds as they traveling through a countryside. Looks like a great walk and that good thing is - not muddy ...with all the rain and such we have had most of our mountain trails are definitely muddy.
ReplyDeleteBelas fotos.
ReplyDeleteBons passeios.

Muy bonitas fotos! Te espero por mi blog, espero que te guste mi último post! Feliz día! ♡♡♡
ReplyDeleteInteresting series of images. One of my favourite things to do is to find a really old bridge over a stream and to stand on it looking down. It all seems very timeless. When I am long gone that bridge will be there with the water meandering beneath it.
ReplyDeleteHi Val! Lovely images of your neighbourhood.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I'm popping over from MagicLoveCrow. And I'd like to thank you for entering the giveaway. Best of luck!
I'm a big fan of bridge photographs, especially when there is water flowing underneath (as in most cases). I like WestColumbia Riverwalk. Caycle riverwalk also looks nice. Stone and brick bridges always look historical and have that nice vintage vibe, but I like modern designs as well. It is always interesting to see different ones, I even enjoy photographing crossover bridges. These are really lovely. It is great that one doesn't have to worry about mud, here it depends on the area. Some rivers have lovely paved areas and some are just left on their own, nobody does anything to maintain its banks and you have to risk the mud. Although in some cases, that's actually not so bad because then you have the river to yourself. There is one area where I like to go for walk that is almost always empty because of the rocky terrain, the only people I ever saw there were local fisherman.
ReplyDeleteI love your bridge shots. Those are so cool. Better then the one I showed on my blog today, that one that just fell into the water.
