It is known for its award winning roses and gorgeous cypress trees.
There are currently 79 rose beds.
4,800 rose plants.
The colors, shapes and sizes vary greatly.
The garden is here to honor those who fought in the 1st and 2nd World Wars, Korean War, and the Vietnam Conflict from the Orangeburg area.
This does not quite show the vastness of roses but it is a sea of bushes behind me!
The park runs along the Edisto River adding natural beauty.
There are bronzed statues to bring a smile to visitors faces.
I am not sure what the girls are up to, but the boy is definitely skipping rocks.
Here one can also enjoy a butterfly garden, a serenity garden and a sensory garden.
There are boardwalks to avoid the mud when wet.
Plenty of spaces for picnics among the cypress trees.
I hope you enjoyed this visit to the gardens.
If you go:
200 Riverside Dr SW, Orangeburg, SC 29115
Open daily free of charge. 7am - 7pm.
