Elephant Lanyard
It has been a while since I have made an elephant lanyard.
This can be a popular animal since they are associated with good luck. The lanyard is available at Miss Val’sCreations.
This is one of those handmade Peruvian ceramic beads that I
am loving so much! I decided to go with an understated strand so there is just
a splash of color and whimsy!
The turquoise beads give the elephant a circus like
feel. Let me say though that I am anti circus and feel all animals should be
banned from circuses worldwide (enough serious stuff).
Pickling Crock
So I inherited something old. It was my Great Grandmother’s
(dad’s mom’s mom) pickling crock.
It has amazing texture. It is around 100 years old.
The only marking on it is the number 5.
After looking online this refers to the number of gallon
capacity. Duh! I knew nothing of
pickling crocks.
It is quite large and weighs a ton. It sits in my living
room which is earthy tones. It is not the prettiest thing which I think is why
my mom wanted it out of her house!
Maybe one of my nieces or nephew will want to take it
someday. I swear it still smells like pickles!
Crocuses
I was pleasantly surprised this week driving up my driveway
to see a bit of color in the woods. Random crocuses. These are the first bit of
color I see each year.
I have a feeling
I accidentally dug them up from the garden my first spring at the house and they
ended up in the woods with the weeds and such that I threw back there!
Bloglovin
I finally added Bloglovin to my blog. Recently I was asked
by a couple of people who are not Blogger users about following options. It is
about time I added this! I am slow sometimes with these sorts of things.
I wish you all a wonderful spring week and a happy Easter or
Passover if you celebrate! ~Val
