Tattersall Farm is one of the many peaceful places in our city. This 150 acre farm was donated to the city back in 1999 by the former owners and to be kept as conservation land to enjoy.
Being a lover of old stuff I was intrigued the by various old farm equipment on display in their rusty weathered state.
Many of the pieces here were horse drawn back in the day.
It is like a farm museum. There are posts to explain how the pieces of equipment were used.
Here is an old hay wagon frame below.
Of course the place needs to show an old John Deere!
I love the seriously corroded horseshoes!
The horse drawn hay rake is quite cool. Although I have no interest in old farm equipment I really enjoyed checking out these pieces.
Particularly with envisioning them being horse drawn with an uncomfortable farmer on the seat.
I hope you enjoyed my little vintage farming tour.
I will be back next week with the trails this farm has to offer! Thank you for stopping by. ~Val

Vintage Jewelry
I received more jewelry that had been my grandmother's. The last batch didn't have much I would wear. It turns out grandpa had a stash of the good stuff!
I will be keeping these sweet necklaces for personal wear and enjoyment. The chains have seen better days but I can change that!
I got the idea from a fellow blogger about using a shadow box to display family pieces that aren't going to be worn. Eventually I will do this and include the initialed pieces.
I have a number of Scottish pieces already but received these clip on earrings too which will also end up in that shadow box. They are all sterling with amazing patina! That is the thistle on the right which is the Emblem of Scotland. Yes, those are bagpipes on the left.
I will also keep this sterling cuff. Most likely it is a genuine vintage Navajo bracelet. It is a bent mess but will still look great on!
Thank you for stopping by. I hope you are enjoying Spring! It finally feels amazing in Massachusetts! ~Val

I will be keeping this Edwardian feeling costume pearl necklace for my personal wear!
There were a couple of great costume jewelry sets that will be looking for a new home via eBay for someone to cherish.

This Week's Blog Post
Random blog post time!
Vintage Beads
I paired these graduated vintage plastic beads with olive
green jade. I have always loved the color of jade and it shows up so
beautifully with the white beads.
I made
matching earrings too to make a pretty summer set! This is available at Miss Val’s Creations.
Periwinkle
Periwinkle is a lush ground cover. My dad gave me a bunch of
them from his yard last summer so this is my first spring with the plants!
They produce a sweet purple flower and have tons of new growth showing.

Corn and Jalapeno Pizza
This was so delicious. Jim thought about trying jalapenos on
our pizza. Then I had to chime in because I love corn with my jalapeno!
So this baby has red sauce, mozzarella, mushroom, corn and jalapeno. It may sound a little odd but it was to die for!!!

Cardinal
This handsome fellow was on my baby Eastern Redbud
outside my office window one morning. The photo was taken through a dirty
window and a screen.
The tree is starting to bud. It is a gorgeous purple pink before the leaves start to show. Cleaning windows is just another task on that long list of unpleasant chores!

Jury Duty
So I had to report for jury duty on Tuesday. It was
scheduled in Salem, MA. This is the famous town where witches were hung many
years ago. In reality they just had their period or were a little mentally
unstable! This town is not fun to drive in or out of. With my GPS I still made
multiple wrong turns. Then coming out the GPS could not pick up a satellite. So
not fun!!!
Then I was panicking because I was 15 minutes late after
dealing with the cluster f**k of this town, then parking in a garage, then
asking 2 pedestrians where the courthouse was, then jogging a little, then entering into the incorrect
court building. Finally I got there and was not penalized!!! They stress being
on time or you may be turned away. That would mean being rescheduled!
Luckily I was not chosen as a juror. The cases were unpleasant so I immediately
thought guilty on both so I would not have made a good juror. I would much
rather seen people in the box who can be 100% impartial. Not easy to do!!!
Thank you for stopping by! I wish you all a wonderful week ahead! ~Val

A Day in Boston Part II
First I would like to thank two of my blogging friends for doing features on me!
Check out Claudia's blog Titled Moncy3!
Here is Kristi's blog Titled Kristi Bowman Design!
Thank you guys! I really appreciated it!
Now for Part II of my day trip to Boston with Jim. Here are some cool photos of the architecture.
I love the Brownstones. We were driving when I took this one so it is not the prettiest. I love the heavy black iron fences and window cages!
This sweet atrium is right on the water where couples can be married!
I love the old streets like this!
This photo is of the North End Italian neighborhood.
I hope you enjoyed this look at Boston!
New this week is this neat jewelry set.
The vintage beads and findings were taken from strands of old jewelry that had belonged to my Great Aunt. I love the antiqued bronze flower bead caps! The graduated white beads offer a great contrast to the findings! Available at Miss Val's Creations.
Thank you for stopping by! Have a great week! ~Val

Lovely Vintage!!!
We visited my grandparents last weekend for my grandfather's 96th birthday! They have been slowly giving things away since the reality is they will not be around much longer (my grandmother is turning 94 this summer).
She gave me 3 large jewelry boxes full of stuff that used to belong to my late great aunt. This is just a taste of some of the goodies in there! I love old brooches but rarely wear them because I do not want to intentionally put holes in my clothes.

There were more clip on earrings than anything else!!! These I do not wear since I feel like they look too big on me and I am petite! The variety here is amazing...again this is only a small percentage in the boxes.

Neat necklaces! I love the large heavy metal pendants which I may incorporate into one of a kind necklace designs.

I discovered many sets too!

These require some research. I am guessing the code of arms belongs to her name "Kydd" which is different from mine. The other symbols I have no clue about! Her high school class ring from 1932 in Somverville, MA was also in there. That I gave to my dad who has a place to display it.

These pieces I plan on keeping since they relate to my Scottish heritage. The bagpipes and spoon are sterling and I love the patina on these.

There were a bunch of beaded strands that were not that exciting. However I took them apart and cleaned the beads. These will make fun, one of a kind lanyards!

Also in there is a very old pin of Felix the Cat. This is stamped although I can not quite make it out! My guess is it is from the 1930s, back when he was creepy looking. Likely the most valuable piece in there!

I have been wanting to make Autism awareness lanyards for a while now and have finally created one! The colored beads accent the puzzle pieces. I love how it came out!

Thank you for reading! Until next week. ~Val
