So I realized I have never blogged about my work space! It is where I spend most of my waking moments at home! Here is where I am sitting right now as I type this.
Before I moved into this house, this bedroom had 2 young boys living in it with bunk beds. This resulted in crayons on the ceiling, green slime on the walls and other yuckiness! I used this beautiful tapestry as inspiration for the room color. I would love to have a backyard like this!!!
Here is my work table where I tend to gaze out the window! This heavy duty table was left behind in the basement and has been perfect for my needs. I had to remove the grommets from the table though since Emmett had an obsession with removing them thinking it was some sort of game.
This antique buffet had belonged to my great aunts. My brother used it for years and then it was passed on to me. It is perfect for storing finished product, beads, findings and more!
These media towers once held my CDs, DVDs (and VHS...dating myself) but now house tons of inventory!
The closet came with an organizer in it already which has worked out great! I store boxes, padded mailers, inventory and more in here!
This is the warmest room in the house as the afternoon sun beats down on it! Jim helped me install this ceiling fan recently. Although the weather has been horrible the fan has been a savior a few times this year.
For those of you thinking, that work space is too neat....yes it is like this all the time when I am not beading or sorting through an order of product. I am extremely anal about my neatness....a little OCD perhaps. The other reason it is always neat is to keep it kitty proof since my feline friends LOVE sitting at both windows watching the birds, squirrels, bunnies and such!
New in my shop is this pretty bracelet! I love these bronzed freshwater pearls. They go beautifully with this 14kt gold filled metal! Available at Miss Val's Creations.
I hope you all have a lovely week! I am hoping for some sun and warmth tomorrow so Jim and I can do something fun since we usually only have Saturday nights and Sundays together!!! ~Val
It looks a lovely place to create and you're right, so neat! Using the cd racks for storage is a great idea too :D
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely space you have created. I love how neat it is. You have great storage ideas.
ReplyDeleteLovely! I would love to have all that green when I look out of my window.
ReplyDeleteI love your wall color!!!! You have motivated me to keep working in my space. I worked for 3 hours or so yesterday just trying to bring some sense of order. I find that although the crafting process itself can tend to get a bit messy at times, having a sense of order is really key. :-)
ReplyDeleteI think that piece of furniture that belonged to your great aunt is beautiful! and you do have a neat place...kids do make a mess and could care less about cleaning up but as a mom I am always after them! I cannot function under chaos!
ReplyDeletecheers Miss Val!
ps I need a workspace of my own!
ReplyDeleteLove your studio! So neat and tidy, wish I could make mine like that always ... really trying :)
ReplyDeleteOh, how wonderful!!! I love the space you created!!!

Lovely work space and home! Thank you for "inviting" me in :)
ReplyDeleteWow, what a nice, clean and organized space! You have created such a nice work space for yourself =)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful space! I couldn't help noticing that the background color of your blog is so very similar to your walls (it's a gorgeous color!!)---intentional? I'm envious of your beautiful room. ;) It IS really neat. Bless your neatness and organization savvy. ;) Lovely bracelet, too! I love those pearls.
ReplyDeleteYour studio is fantastic! So much space! I really wish I had your knack for neatness; mine looks like a constant hurricane...
ReplyDeletebeautiful studio !
ReplyDeleteReally nice workspace of yours- beautiful jewelry! Wish you a nice day/ Eva
ReplyDeleteHi Val,
ReplyDeleteI loved seeing your office/studio space. Compared to mine, believe me, it is very neat. LOL. I have ceiling fans all over my house and love them...we would be lost without them, I can relate.
Crayon marks on the ceiling?? Ow, that is horrible. You have done a great job with the room, it looks great. Love your beautiful earth tone bracelet as well.
Happy 4th to you and Jim.
Ruth
What a wonderful room, and a lovely view with all that green. My room/bedrom looks out on part of a large parking lot!
ReplyDeleteI understand about the cats, I have to keep space cleared off the table for mine - he likes to sit & watch me & the outside world.
Oh it all looks fabulous, Val! And I love your bracelet! Wishing you a wonderful 4th of July weekend. My husband has been out of town for 3 weeks--and yay--he's coming home for 2 days!!

Love your space. I'm trying to come up with something creative and fun for my computer table, especially since it's where spend time with my bloggy neighbors. ;)
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to more visits.
What a fabulous space! I'm more than a little envious of your neatness - I tend to thrive on having six or eight projects going on at once - very messy I'm afraid.
ReplyDeleteI am so jealous, Val. How could you keep it so neat and tidy and make such enormous creation? I try very hard but it gets messy so very easily and my creative motion just scatters all my neatness, I am working on it and your pictures are now an inspiration to me.
ReplyDeleteThank you everyone for your lovely comments! :) Happy 4th of July! ~Val
ReplyDeleteWow, what a nice studio! Mine is a disaster. I love how you can look out the window. I am thinking of moving a table around where I can do the same. I have a similar cat situation. I have to keep things off the units by the windows because one cat rockets in there at full speed headed for the window and knocks things on the floor.
ReplyDeleteOh, and we have a buffet that looks just like the one you have, except it has some shelves on top. It was a wedding anniversary from my husband's father to the mother in the early 60's. I am thinking of using it in the living room to put a new flat screen on. I can't find any thing I like and I like the idea of using something that belonged to my mil. We have a great tv stand with storage now, but a new TV won't fit on it.
