Random Bits of Asheville

Walking the streets of Asheville, NC is entertaining indeed!
There is plenty of street art to enjoy.
Of course there is a variety of works by native Dustin Spagnola.
There seems to be something on every street corner that catches the eye.
There is a map of 30 bronzed statues about the city.
Since we were not here long, we only caught a glimpse of some.
What is with the creepy Ronald McDonald?
He is at the Mellow Mushroom. We were told he had a makeover to be Ziggy Stardust. He is in rough condition these days so a replacement is being sought out. I wonder who will be sitting here next!

This Mellow Mushroom is oozing with personality. Being in an old gas station, there is a little bit of that theme with old pumps and such. I did admire the green roof above where the hostess hangs out.

Another unique food establishment is Double D's.
Yup, it is an old outfitted double decker bus where one can grab a cup of coffee, ice cream and more.

Lazoom Room offers bus rides around town that include beer and entertainment, including comedy and music. Brilliant!
Another cool building.
The hearse advertises Manicomio Pizza. "Make them a deal they can't refuse, bring them a Manicomio pizza". It also reads "what? surf and turf for my last dinner? No thanks, I want a Manicomia pizza."

Next time we go I would love to just wander the streets for the entertainment and art it offers.

Even the ground offers art.

I hope you enjoyed this peek at Asheville.

Thank you for stopping by! ~Val
