A Sunflower

We grew 2 sunflowers from bird seed, just for fun.

It is not a big one. The ones we buy to plant are probably Franken flowers like so many things today.

This is likely a more natural sunflower as it is supposed to be (just my theory due to its size).

 

They are fun to watch bloom.

Then the center darkens.

Normally 8 legged things really freak me out. However with the vibrant color of this flower resident, my discomfort is quite low.

We believe this is the green lynx. A welcome visitor as these are used in agriculture to control the bad insects. Since little ants were crawling up and down the stalk, this little guy ate well.
