These pretty beads are brecciated jasper which has a
beautiful brownish red tone with dark grey markings. In between is a corrugated sterling silver
bead. These are available at Etsy.
Bota Box Wine
Don’t laugh, but Jim and I discovered a boxed wine we like!
The eco-friendly packaging caught my eye first!
Then we read that this received 88 points in the taste test.
Pretty good so we gambled.
It is so convenient since it can be brought hiking, boating,
to the beach, on a picnic, camping or fishing.
I find this funny. I would not pair wine with hiking. The other
activities, yes.
Bota Box has other wines as well but the red zinfandel is the
only one with the high rating on the taste test. That may mean the others are
terrible.
It was around $15 and equivalent to 4 bottles of wine. It supposedly
stays good up to 4 weeks opened too although I never expect an open box to last
that long since red wine is part of my nightly routine.

Oh my! Wine in a box - I think that would be a no-go in Europe (for the traditional wine connoisseur). But well who knows :)
ReplyDeleteLovely earrings!
Have a nice week.
I've never tried boxed wine, but you have sure inspired me to do so. :-)
ReplyDeleteLove these earrings, Val. Simple and beautiful.
Love the Jasper earrings Val, they are very pretty. I'm not a wine drinker so I didn't realize that you could buy wine in a box and wow, it's good too, that is a plus. Now you can take it everywhere, even the office , maybe a mid day nip? Just kidding.
ReplyDeleteLove your treasury. I will have to figure out the embedding thing so I can show mine on my blog. Making treasuries I'm finding, is a bit addictive.....lots of fun.
Have a great weekend.
Ruth
Love those jasper beads!
ReplyDeleteI'll have to look for this wine at our local store...boxed wine is so much more convenient than a bottle. And I agree...who can keep wine around for 4 weeks...lol :) (love the glass too!)
Your first treasury turned out great!
I've never had boxed wine, but you've got me thinking that this one would be a good try, especially because it's red!
ReplyDeleteBreciated jasper is a pretty stone, that's the one I picked for the rosary chaplet gift; your earrings are classic and pretty.
Great selections for the treasury!
Hee Hee my grandparents enjoyed boxed wine, they cut theirs with apple lime juice. I have fond memories of that, lol
ReplyDeleteI think there must be a lot of good ones out there, people keep buying them and producers keep making them so why not!?
Beautiful earrings! And since I'm not a wine drinker, I probably wouldn't know the difference between the types. I remember having communion at my grandma's church, only to discover that they served wine instead of the grape juice we use at our church. It burned, but I swallowed it...eventually. Maybe it was one of those other boxed wines with the low points. LOL
ReplyDeleteSweet earrings - did you match the beads to the wine? ;-)
ReplyDeleteLike Petra said...in Europe boxed wine is kind of a no-go, however, that doesn't mean it isn't any good! Love the wine glass!
Hi Val, so nice to meet you and what a gorgeous pair of earrings you created. Love the treasurey you share.
ReplyDeleteGlad you found a wine in a box you like. Not much of a wine drinker but on occassion. I will remember this one. Thank you for sharing.
Have a great week and thank you for stopping by and your new following. I so enjoyed my visit here and a new follower too.
Hugs, Celestina Marie
I buy my wine boxed most of the time, I really don't know much about wine. I just use it to relax and go to sleep faster ;)
ReplyDeleteThose Jaspers are gorgeous~great color! The treasury has some wonderful items on it...I looked a little further into some of the artists' other work. Such talent out there!
ReplyDeleteBox Wine...I was a skeptic until the guy at the liquor store finally talked me into it. We are believers now for the past 2 years. As for hiking...when I used to backpack, one of my hiking partners would carry a full glass gallon jug!!! He liked his wine. We were hiking up to elevations of 10-11,000ft to set up camp. He was crazy. I wonder if he now hikes with the box?
Lovely earrings, Val!!!
ReplyDeleteHave a good week!
Besos, desde España, Marcela♥
Oh goodness, for a second I was worried about you: pairing wine with hiking?? Weird. But hey, I'm one for cheap wines. Hubby and I have found that more often than not we like a $8 bottle better than a $20 one.
ReplyDeleteNothing makes a hike better than a little vino. lol Could you imagine explaining to the park rangers that one?
ReplyDeleteI love the jasper earrings. Going to travel over that way and fave them now. :) Lovely blog!
Beautiful earrings, and treasury! I love your minimalist, elegant sensibility :)
ReplyDeleteCute earrings!
ReplyDeleteThat looks great!!
ReplyDeletewww.meryswardrobe.blogspot.com
I like the packaging for the wine too! Enjoy it ;-)
ReplyDeletePretty earrings.
I haven't seen that particular wine in our area, but then I haven't been in Total Wine in awhile. We've been enjoying some different reds and whites from Sprouts and Trader Joe's (yes, even some of their super inexpensive wine has turned out to be very tasty!
ReplyDeleteThe jasper is gorgeous, and new to me. I do use a lot of semiprecious stones but not jasper, so far. I shall have to look out for some!
ReplyDeleteBoxed wine is getting increasingly sophisticated and respectable! No need to apologize any more for it!
ReplyDeleteeco-friendly packaging definitely an attraction!
