Now we must be aware of standing 6 flamingos from each other.
Certain beasts probably enjoy people watching again.
High touch zones are well labeled with "caution".
Bronze statues throughout are blocked off since these are also high touch items used for photo ops.
We always have to stop by the meerkats since they are smile inducing creatures.
These two were deep in conversation of the intellectual sort.
White rhinos are still due to arrive in the fall, as scheduled. The habitat is coming along.
Frogs were enjoying themselves this day too. This big guy looks like an ornament but was real.
It felt good to simply be out again. With the limited capacity it was a quiet, peaceful day at the zoo.
I hope you are able to find things to enjoy too. This is one place where we feel safe since it is easy to keep distance from others. It may be months before we feel comfortable enough to eat in a restaurant again since case numbers are still on the rise here.
Thank you for stopping by! ~Val
Looks like a fun day! Love that frog.
ReplyDeleteThank you Debra!
DeleteThat had to be such a welcome respite for you. The photos are terrific -- I adore the flamingos especially. No, I won't be eating out or visiting most places again but I'm glad you found one that feels and is very safe.
ReplyDeleteThank you Jeanie. There are a lot of things we are missing right now but are thankful for the little pleasures in life!
Deleteoh How fun! We haven't been to a zoo or arboretum or ...any public place yet really because we don't hav e one close by and it would be a day trip. But it must have felt great and i love the photos ...and the six flamingo apart idea, lol
ReplyDeleteIt felt amazing to be out somewhere! We will likely all come out of this enjoying things more than before.
DeleteIt looks like you had a wonderful time at Riverbanks Val! I'm glad! Be well and stay safe. I heard on the news our state is going up in new cases daily. I pray the virus slows down.
ReplyDeleteThank you Pilar. I hope you are staying safe too. It is sad seeing the number of cases rising here.
DeleteSo great you had your first outing. The zoo you visited seems great. YOu took some lovely snaps of the animals. Love the pink flamingo.
ReplyDeleteThank you Ivana! Animals have a way of invoking happiness in us humans.
DeleteIn my country, Austria, social distance is exemplified with a baby elephant. There must be room enough between people for a baby elephant. The meaning and the idea works good. I don't know if a Komodo dragon or gorillas would have the same effect. They are not cute enough :) Stay well and healthy. Here in Europe the first wave is over and life goes on but all experts talking about a second wave to come. So we still have to be careful and mindful.
ReplyDeleteOh I love the baby elephant distance. How cute! The second wave of the virus expected is scary. Hopefully everyone is more careful this time around with distancing and wearing masks.
DeleteHow lovely. I am so looking forward to our outing next week, at a safari park. It's been so long since we were able to go somewhere, it seems almost strange to be able to do that.
ReplyDeleteYour pictures are lovely. Some animals really missed humans, as we provide some entertainment for them too.
Thank you Anca. Enjoy the safari park! That sounds like a fun outing after being homebound all the time.
DeleteOh this looks like a lovely day out and it looks as though people are practicing social distancing. Oh that frog! I went to a local park yesterday and there was a frog there making so much noise it sounded like a cow. My sister said it was a bull frog. We didn't see him as he was hiding in the water lilies but we did see a big splash when he jumped in the water lol.

Frogs provide us with great entertainment! We have one living behind a window shutter, although we can't see it. It must be small but oh the loud noise it makes! Bull frogs are so loud.
Deleteit looks like such a fun day! i'm so happy for you
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful experience to have this year!
