Upcycled Beads

I found these fun beads at a second hand store and made a lanyard for my shop!
Then made a couple necklaces for myself.
This can also be doubled up and worn short. I received a compliment from a stranger my first time wearing this necklace due to the color!
The red is very festive for the holidays but will be fun in the summer too!
I am in love with how these huge beads lay around the neck when doubled.
The rare, dreaded selfie of me.

This is a hair update too. I am a bit salt and pepper but am still more pepper than I thought I would be after transitioning to my 100% natural hair.

I hope you enjoyed my new pieces. I intend on playing around with some of the red beads for holiday crafting too.

Thank you for stopping by. Have a great week! ~Val

This Week's Blog Post

Silver Pearl Eyeglass Chains and Lanyards
I got silver glass pearls to make eyeglass chains and lanyards, so I made 1 of each in gold and silver! One lanyard sold within a couple of days so I think this was a good addition to my shop! We ladies love our pearls.

This eyeglass chain is available at Miss Val’s Creations.

Peruvian Beads
I received these incredibly adorable Peruvian beads this week. The detail is wonderful! I received a llama, giraffe, monkey and an owl.
These will be worked into lanyards for people with fetishes. That word sounds dirty but I am not sure how else to describe it when someone has a serious love for a particular animal!!!

Fondue Pot
This is my newest kitchen appliance. As a cheese lover I am SO EXCITED!!!! Jim and I are doing a cheddar cheese fondue tonight with veggies to dip.
Jim has the amazing idea of cooking up potato chunks to dip! Heaven! Maybe in the future we will try a traditional fondue but since cheese is so expensive and it is our first time, we are going to start out cheap!

New Handbag
I have mentioned in the past how I like to buy second hand since it is a green thing to do!

This Banana Republic is my “new” winter handbag found on eBay. It is so me and in excellent condition!!!!

Pendant
I have these interesting sterling silver bails made in Bali. They have 2 loops so all sorts of things can be done with them!
I played with some more wire and here is what I have so far. I am not sure if I want to dangle some beads on them or maybe dangle some chain from the bail with a bead at the end. Decisions, decisions!!!

Thank you for stopping by and have a great, creative week!!! ~Val

Loving Spring!

I made these pretty rosary beads for a First Communion happening this Sunday!

The lucky girl's birthstone is amethyst, hence the purple Swarovski crystals! I adore this cross. It is such a gorgeous piece of sterling silver. Her mom requested a matching bracelet too. The little crosses are so sweet!

My wegilia has pretty little flowers!

I have 4 of these which I bought through the mail 3 seasons ago and they are flourishing. Still clearly babies though! I originally had 5 but after attempting to move one, it died. :( I am a huge fan of variegated leaves which is why I needed these plants!

Some of my irises have opened!!!

I have a wondeful old neighbor who is quite a gardener. He is overwhelmed with irises and lilies and gave me tons of bulbs last summer which I planted. It is much more special when someone gives you flowers from their garden and then you get to enjoy them.

Remember last week's bouquet? The lilies opened up beautifully and took over!!!

Don't forget to enter the pearl earring giveaway in the post below! The lucky winner will be drawn Sunday 6/5/11. Link here.

New this week is a red agate and carnelian necklace.

I have always loved the look of striped agate! This is available in my shop!

I have to sign off with this picture of my housemates. They are never looking at the camera at the same time!!! Love the scary eyes!!!

Thank you for reading! ~Val
