Halloween Fun at the Farmers Market
There is a quite a display of creepy clowns, freaky children and spooky skeletons this year at the State Farmers Market in Columbia, SC.
The organizers here must have a blast setting up these animated, disturbing objects! I wonder how many little kids have nightmares after seeing these.
Happy Halloween! Thank you for stopping by! ~Val
Kids seem to be able to segregate in their minds what is real and what is fantastical and Halloween images that seem quite appalling to adults seem not to affect them. It seems to be similar to the old fairy tales, some of which are quite horrific (wolves waiting to eat you, children pushed into ovens, and so forth). I read all of these as a child, as did many other children of course, and never had nightmares over it.
ReplyDeleteKids are lucky they can separate real from imaginary so they can really enjoy those old fairy tales. I did experience a predicament at a young age after watching Freddy Krueger. I knew how absurdly fiction the premise was yet I was unable to sleep much for a few weeks!
DeleteI have never seen a horror film in my life; in fact I haven't seen that many movies at all. It just has never been my thing.
DeleteYou are certainly not missing out on anything with regards to horror films. I never really understood the appeal.
