An Antique Chair

I am really enjoying my latest inheritance, this antique chair.
It had belonged to my great aunt and then to my grandparents.
Grandpa just passed at age 101 after a long happy, healthy life.
The chair has wonderful details and is in amazing condition.
Even the bottom of the legs have a cutout.
It would be great to have the wood refinished but I also love the look of wear showing its age.
This would be a fun piece to bring to Antique Roadshow!

I hope you have enjoyed viewing this relic of the past. Thank you for stopping by! ~Val

  9. You are so blessed to receive such a gift as this chair! If it had eyes and ears, think of the stories it could tell. When I look at it I think of a parent or grandparent sitting there with a little one and reading a book. Since it's a family heirloom, I wouldn't refinish it. It's beautiful the way it is, and has obviously been cared for. It's beautiful! And 101 years old! Imagine what he has seen in his lifetime!
