Mount Auburn Cemetary

Rose Quartz Necklace
This love necklace is made up of rose quartz with a subtle heart stamped into the focal point.
Available at Etsy.

Mount Auburn Cemetery
Jim and I got to do some leaf peeping at the Mount Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge, MA.
This charming place of rest is full of trees from all over the world!

My favorite in the Fall is always the sugar maple like this one below. My parents have one like it in their front yard that passers by stop and photograph each year!

I had to look up the Scots' Charitable Society. It is the oldest charitable organization in the Western Hemisphere dating back to 1657. This is a gated area that does not appear to have any burials within. It is a little mysterious!

Here is the Boston skyline!
That rounded structure towards the front is Harvard Stadium.
Yup, we hiked this tower. I only made it to the first level. It was dissying walking the spiral staircase upward!

This is Story Chapel. We have not been inside here yet....maybe next time!

I hope you enjoyed this foliage tour of the cemetery. If you ever make a trip to the Boston area I would highly recommend this visit. It is open year round and free of charge!!!

Thank you for stopping by. I hope you have a fantastic week ahead. ~Val

A Rose Quartz Necklace and Rhody Art

Rose Quartz Necklace
It has been ages since I made a necklace using a chandelier finding for the focal piece. They always look so feminine! This rose quartz beauty is available at Etsy.

Rhody Art
I met Lin of Rhody Art through an Etsy New England team. Her collages and mixed media work always brought a smile to my face and I finally decided to treat myself!

I chose "Dreamer" since she suits me. I have all sorts of dreams that I intend to make happen (some are impossible unless I hit the lottery).
I also received this whimsical bookmark which is very much Lin's style! The woman's quote reads "she wished he'd just leave". Too funny.
She pairs vintage prints with various other materials to create one of a kind pieces. I love this one:
Each listing has a humorous description. "Samantha has been dating her lover Samuel for several years. He's just asked her to marry him but it means a move to Nepal. She hates cold weather and mountains. In addition, her parents have never approved of the relationship. She loves him madly though--what on earth is she going to do?"

Lin also makes greeting cards like this one which is perfect for your naughty friend.
"In this whimsical greeting, Candace looks very sweet but behind that angelic exterior is a devil may care, adventurous young woman. She won't tell anyone what she's up to--she'll keep them guessing."

Fridge magnets will give you a chuckle each day.
"Dagobert is always frustrated by his sweetheart's refusal to douse herself in Arrid Extra Dry. It's been a losing battle so far."

Christmas will be here before we know it!
"No one wants coal in their stocking at Christmas and this bad boy has the bad luck of always getting some. Poor man."

I love the unexpected statements.
"Bruno has always wanted to be a professional wrestler. But he's not interested in the WWE or clownish professional wrestlers. He wants to do greco-roman wrestling and doesn't understand why it isn't more popular."

This is one of my favorites:
"One mustn't ask what Freda and Jonathan have been up to. Perhaps they had a bit too much fun at a party. In any event, as they stagger home Jonathan helps Freda toddle along. They support each other, just as they promised to do when they married years ago."

I hope you have enjoyed this glimpse of Rhody Art. Next time you are looking for something whimsical for yourself or someone else, check out Rhody Art on Etsy. Like on Facebook.

Well thank you for stopping. I wish you all well!!! ~Val

This Week's Blog Post

Rose Quartz and Shell Necklace

This is my latest necklace! The shells are called green everlasting curly shells. I love the soft pink of their insides so I placed them so that side shows more than the opposite which is more brown and green. The rose quartz is so pretty with them!
The freeform wire pendant was one I showed on my blog a while back. I thought I wanted to do more with it but over time I just liked it as is! When making the necklace I realized it needed something to tie into the strand, hence 2 little rose quart beads dangling! This piece is available at Miss Val’s Creations.

Chocolate Fondue

This was Jim and my first chocolate fondue experience together. So fun!!! We melted various high quality chocolate bars together.

We chopped up the delicious fruits.

Dipped.

Mmmm! The orange was both our favorites!

Jim had the brilliant idea of pouring the leftover chocolate (it was so rich that there was tons left) onto nut clusters to create turtle like treats without the caramel.
A relatively healthy candy! These were kept in the freezer and were perfectly edible right out of it!
They did not freeze solid and kept for almost a month in there until all eaten! I look forward to playing with chocolate again.

Wanelo

Does anyone use Wanelo? I am curious if it seems like a good social networking tool or not. I see it mentioned here and there in forums by Etsy users. So I started playing with it and have a whopping 1 follower! Like most social media, this is fun too. It is nowhere near as fun as Pinterest though!

Thank you for stopping by! I hope you all have a great week ahead!!!  ~Val
